A lovely visit to the Hunter Valley. The cottage is in the perfect location and amenities here are great, thank you for the wine and breakfast! We loved watching the roos! The wine and cheese tasting with Declan was intimate and friendly - and the best we had tried in the valley!

Relaxing - didn’t disappoint.
Beautiful clean little cottage with everything you could require. Lovely deck to enjoy the vineyard views while relaxing with our meal and drinks. The breakfast hamper was generous and appreciated. Nice hot shower too!

Perfect Weekend getaway, even my 13 year old said can we come back and stay for a week! What a beautiful place to stay. It's not very often we choose the fancy places, we normally have a tight budget, but originally this was purely chosen for its location, it was close to a wedding we were off to, but so glad we did, it was worth every cent, this gorgeous Cottage was perfect. It had every thing we needed, it was beautiful and clean and Danielle was an absolute pleasure to deal with in the booking process and her friendly face at check in was a delight! Not to mention the wine they produce was on point! Highly recommend!

From the moment you drive in to this spectacular estate you are made to feel welcome and valued. After a short walk around the dam we were shown to our seats on the verandah by a friendly and entertaining host who walked us through some of the Hunter Valley's best wines. From history to wine tasting techniques there was nothing off limits as our taste buds were guided through this sometimes hilarious experience! I'd strongly recommend leaving an hour for this tasting to get the full experience. The cheese pairings were spot on as well, and our lack of wine knowledge was met with humour and compassion. We can't wait to visit again 🥂.

Host Danielle was wonderful, cabin was clean, cozy, location perfect.
My friend and I loved our stay at McCaffrey's Estate which was perfect for our long weekend getaway. The cabin was what we imagined, had everything, clean, cute and so cozy especially with the fireplace on cold nights. They also have their own winery to visit and taste. The host Danielle was so lovely, welcoming which made us feel so at home with a lovely bottle of wine, bacon, eggs and bread for breakfast the next morning. The position of McCaffrey's was in a perfect location, still close to all shops, wineries, attractions etc., but still had that beautiful quiet nature country feeling. If you are looking for that quiet relaxing atmosphere, I would recommend McCaffrey's.

We were so impressed and happy with everything during our stay. The cottage is so cute and comfortable and a perfect location. Sitting in amongst some of the vines and so quiet. The breakfast supplies that were provided were a lovely surprise and very appreciated. We would definitely recommend McCaffrey's Estate and will stay here again next time we are in the Hunter. Thank you so much for making our Hunter stay so perfect.

Danielle and Declan’s private cottages are beautiful getaways and central to the wineries. They were both extremely welcoming whilst allowing privacy. The cottages contain everything you need for a dream break away. The scenery is beautiful and cottage is really cosy. We will 100% be returning and recommending to friends. There onsite cellar door had one of the best wines we tried in the hunter! Thank you again for an amazing stay.

Lovely cellar door + great place to stay. Took part in the wine tasting on our first day in Hunter Valley. Had booked into one of the cottages too, so was great to have our first tipple so close to home after the drive up. Tasting room was very cute, we tried a variety of wines and (despite having multiple favourites amongst the group!), top of the list for me was the Verdelho. Loved the afternoon tasting and it was great meeting and chatting to Danielle later on too - super chilled Cellar Door experience and an amazing place to stay. Will be back!

A gem of a winery

Very much recommend that Wine Making Experience in the Hunter. Declan is a very goodand talented host... he knows his business...We were 3 of us and enjoyed every minute + you leave with a bottle of your own wine so if you don't like it, that is your fault and cannot blame anyone else because on that day you are the winemaker.

Fabulous, friendly and fun wine tasting experience! A must-visit cellar door!
McCaffrey's Estate Winery have a Wine Club named "Convivial" and that is such an apt description of the reception and experience you will receive the moment you arrive at the cellar door. Danielle and Declan, who own the family business, are just delightful people. They have a wonderful knowledge of wine-making and many enchanting stories of how some of the wines are named. Wines!!! Well from vivacious Verdhelo to a superb Sharaz the range of wines is superb and all of them very special. We have just enjoyed a wine tasting with Declan at the helm and inevitably walked out with a box of wine. The cheese from Hunter Belle that accompanied the wine was perfectly matched too! We have been members, convivial naturally, for a year and we are really looking forward to the "Winemaker for a Day" experience. There are so many wineries in the Hunter Valley and now, as locals, we are trying to find our favourites. McCaffrey's is right at the top of our list and you should make sure that you make time for a visit. I promise that you will be delighted with the wine and the experience.
