Meet the Team: Tinny

You might have noticed a new face in the cellar door since May!

We’ve welcomed Tinny as our cellar door manager here at McCaffrey’s Estate.

From Canada & France to the Hunter Valley

Tinny hails from Canada and France, and has called the Hunter Valley home since 2022 after years of travelling the globe. She always loves to chat about any trips and adventures you’ve been on or are planning, and will often share her best tips for her favourite travel locations.

A passion for wine

Being French, Tinny has an innate love of wine which has developed into a true passion since moving to Australia, where she’s learned every step of the process – from working in the vineyard to pouring the bottle at your table. She shares that same thirst for wine knowledge that brought the McCaffreys to the Hunter.

Her favourite pairings

Tinny also loves to share her favourite recipes that match the wines she pours for you. Her current favourite is pairing the McCaffrey’s Estate Chardonnay with carbonara. During winter, you’ll find a glass of ‘The Frenchman’ Cab Franc or ‘The Whistler ‘Shiraz in her hand, and she’s also known to enjoy a refreshing glass of Rosé or two during the Tour de France.

A day in the life

A typical day in the cellar door for Tinny begins with petting the dogs, Mac and Molly, as she arrives to work, followed by preparing the cellar door to greet new guests with freshly stocked wine and local cheeses. If you’ve ordered any wine from us, Tinny ensures those are packed and sent off so you can enjoy the wines at home. Ensuring the place is tidy and welcoming is what she strives for every day. You’ll also often catch her with a cuppa in hand, as she loves her tea as much as she loves wine. Tinny ends the day by taking a moment to visit the sheep or watch the sunset over the vineyard before heading home.

Beyond the cellar door

When she isn’t at the cellar door, Tinny enjoys spending time at the aerial studio, freediving, playing trivia or spending time with her friends.

You’ll get along with Tinny if you enjoy travel, wine, sports or bring in a furry friend. To every dog that visits the cellar door, she’s also known as “the treat lady”.

She’s excited to meet all the wonderful people who visit the estate, whether it’s your first time or you return time and time again. Above all, she hopes to bring a warm smile and good conversation to every person she has the pleasure of hosting.
