Where can you find us?

Getting to McCaffrey’s Estate and discovering nearby Hunter Valley attractions is easy.

We are at 614 Hermitage Road Pokolbin NSW 2320, less than 10 minutes from Hunter Valley Gardens and around 20 minutes from both Singleton and Cessnock. 

Our estate is within walking distance of boutique cellar doors, Restaurant Botanica (Spicers Vineyard Estate), Ironbark Hill Brewhouse, Yellow Billy Restaurant, Greystone Estate, Thistle Hill Guest House & Enzo Weddings. Explore the Around Hermitage Cycleway, with over 10 km of dedicated paths, or enjoy horse riding and Segway tours minutes away. We’re also a short drive to Hunter Valley Gardens, Harrigan’s Irish Pub, and award-winning golf courses. 

For something special, book a helicopter pick-up from the estate and create your own personalised wine tour or long lunch. We can also recommend tours via helicopter, minibus, or private vehicle. Transfers to and from concerts at Bimbadgen Estate, Hope Estate, and Roche Estate are available through Rover Coaches.

How to get here

From Sydney:

Head north on the Pacific Motorway (M1) towards Newcastle, follow the signs to the Hunter Expressway (M15).

To get to Hermitage Road continue to the end of the Expressway where it joins the New England Highway and then turn left into Hermitage Road (Hermitage Road exit). McCaffrey’s Estate is located 6.1 km on the right hand side of the road.

From the North via Pacific Highway (A1), Port of Newcastle, Newcastle Airport and the Pacific Motorway at Beresfield:

Follow John Renshaw Drive (B68) access the Expressway at the Buchanan interchange. (You can not join the Expressway from north at the Newcastle interchange.)

From Newcastle:

Via Newcastle Link Road (A15) and join the Expressway at the Newcastle Interchange.

From Cessnock / Wollombi:

Follow Wine Country Drive (B82) and turn left onto Broke Road, then left onto McDonalds Road and a quick right at the roundabout to continue on Broke Road. At the intersection with Hermitage Road turn right we are located on the left hand side of the road.

From the West via Singleton:

Go east on the New England Highway (A43) and turn right into Hermitage Road.

From Broke/Fordwich:

Head east on Broke Road and turn left into Hermitage Road

For a more adventurous or relaxing experience, the Hunter Valley offers a variety of activities. From luxurious day spas and horse riding to thrilling Segway tours, there’s something for every interest. You can also enjoy world-class golfing at nearby championship courses or immerse yourself in the stunning beauty of the Hunter Valley Gardens, just a short 10-minute drive away.

If you’re attending one of the region’s popular concerts, take advantage of the local shuttle service (fees apply), which will transfer you to and from the venue with ease, dropping you right back to the estate afterward.

For something truly special, we can also recommend wine tours via helicopter, mini bus, or private vehicle, based on your preferences.
